Our production

Designed for those who pay particular attention to the origin and composition of the food they serve every day, the Nikelfrì product category It was set up to offer vegetables grown with consistency and care, whilst respecting their natural characteristics.

Tomatoes and courgettes are produced in High-tech hydroponic greenhouses on coco coir blocks, within a system that enables the precise management of nutrients, water and growing conditions. The Nickel-Free certification confirms a nickel content of less than 0.01 mg/kg and is the result of a well-structured production model, based on ongoing checks.

Handling a certified Nickel-Free fresh product requires care even in the stages following harvest. During transport, we pay particular attention to the packaging, which is designed to prevent any possible contact with other products containing nickel and to preserve the product’s integrity throughout the journey. We use certified, fully recyclable cardboard or plastic trays, a choice that combines food safety with environmental responsibility.

With Nikelfrì, we are developing a technologically advanced production process that combines agronomic innovation with a focus on nutritional composition, offering vegetables designed to form part of a balanced and health-conscious diet.

Nickel in food and food wellbeing

Nickel in food: why should we be wary?

Nickel is naturally present in many foods, but it is not always harmless to the body. Understanding when and why it can become an issue is the first step towards making informed choices.
Nickel is an element naturally present in the environment and, consequently, in many foods. In susceptible individuals, dietary intake can be associated with hypersensitivity reactions. Among the most well-known manifestations are allergic contact dermatitis and Nickel Systemic Allergy Syndrome (SNAS), which can present with skin and gastrointestinal symptoms. For those who need to limit nickel intake, it becomes essential to be able to choose foods with a defined and verifiable content. Nikelfrì was created to meet this need, offering low-nickel vegetables, the result of a production method that keeps this parameter within certified values.

Nickel-free and nutritional wellbeing

Mindful eating also means being aware of what you cannot see. Monitoring nickel intake is part of a new approach to wellbeing – one that is more mindful, more informed and more personalised.
In recent years, interest in healthy eating has grown significantly. Indeed, more and more people are making more informed choices about what they put on their tables, paying attention to the quality of ingredients, their origin and the nutritional composition of foods. This new awareness has given rise to a need for products that allow consumers to carefully manage certain elements naturally present in food, such as nickel. For those following specific dietary regimes or simply wishing to maintain greater control over their diet, being able to rely on vegetables with clearly defined characteristics represents a real opportunity. The Nikelfrì range was also created with this aim in mind: not to “sell a problem”, but to offer products that combine quality, taste and a focus on nutritional wellbeing.
